Ash is involved with data—preparation, modeling, and infrastructure—at Phenome Health. As part of the Data Science team, he extracts and cleans data to automate reporting, designs ingestion pipelines for new or existing data and determine modeling requirements, maintains and develops features for the Phenome Core infrastructure. Ash holds a BS in Physics from Sam Houston State University and a PhD, also in Physics, from the University of Texas at Dallas. His research interests focus on applications of machine learning (ML) on biometric data from an environmental perspective. He has led the construction of empirical models of physiological responses to the environment using ML, built predictors of hospitalization rates through the integration of healthcare, environmental, and socioeconomic data, and developed computer vision (CV) models to detect blinks from video streams.
